ClosedWhat was the motivating factor to launch your company?
The question should be who was the motivating factor. My father was an expert tailor with impeccable taste in fabrics and the quality of merchandise and was the one who piqued my interest in fashion. He was a perfectionist when it came to the fit of clothing. I loved to walk down the street with him; he always looked like he just stepped out of a men’s fashion magazine! Years later, I met my husband, who ironically enough was working in the garment center as a head pattern maker for a top manufacturing company, and of course another perfectionist entered my life. With my love for fashion and every aspect of it and because of my husband’s expertise in making a garment from beginning to end, we decided to open our own company which was a huge success for over 20 years. Life leads you in many different directions and after 9-11, we decided that we had enough and my husband wanted to retire, but I was not ready to retire. My dream was to always have my own boutique to cater to the young woman and to the more mature woman. So my story ends. A Perfect Gift by Marilyn was born.

I also carry limited quantities in everything, so that a woman feels special when she is wearing something and does not see herself coming and going all over town.
