Practice Overview: I am board certified in Dermatology and a Fellow of the American Academy of Dermatology, the American Society of Dermatologic Surgery and The American Society of Laser Medicine and Surgery. Specializing in the diagnosis and treatment of skin cancer, I am on staff at Riverview Medical Center, Robert Wood University Hospital and Monmouth Medical Center, and an adjunct Clinical Professor at Christ Hospital. I have conducted research and published within the field of dermatology and have received the "Physician of Hope Award," presented by the American Cancer Society, as well as lectured at local and national meetings.
What was the motivating factor for the launch of your practice?
I started the practice to provide caring, personal service to patients. I was a pharmacist for nine years, with a master's degree and went on to medical school because I wanted to provide direct patient care and be able to offer the latest in treatment options for skin cancer and skin rejuvenation.
How does your practice stay current with new advances in your field?
We offer technical innovative services as well as specialized state-of-the-art dermatologic treatment withcom plete in-office facilities. In addition to offering the latest breakthrough technology in medical dermatology we also offer the most up to the minute advances in cosmetic dermatology such as laser skin rejuvenation, laser hair removal, tattoo removal and chemical peels, as well as Botox, Dysport and fillers suchas Restylane, Perlane, Juvaderm and Radiesse
What might a patient feel stands out about your practice that would make them recommend you to family or friends?
My patients have the assurance of knowing that in addition to the personal attention and expertise they experience in my office, I am always a continuing student of the latest groundbreaking advances as well as a teacher, having conducted research and published within the field of dermatology. I have volunteered for the American Cancer Society, providing lectures and skin cancer screenings. I had the honor of receiving the "Physician of Hope Award" presented by the American Cancer Society and have lectured at local and at national meetings. Most recently I have made several appearances on Headline News CNN, with Nancy Grace.
What sets your practice apart from your competitors?
I am one of the few physicians in Monmouth and Ocean County who is fellowship trained in the procedure of Mohs Micrographic Surgery for the removal of basal cell and squamous cell carcinoma. Fellowship trained Mohs surgeons are fellows of the American College of Mohs Surgery. Mohs micrographic surgery is the most effective and state-of-the-art procedure for skin cancer today, which offers the highest potential for recovery — even if the skin cancer has been previously treated by another method and recurred.
