AKASHA, “A Space to Heal” is a Center for Ayurveda and Yoga located in Colts Neck. We offer a full spectrum of Ayurvedic services and therapies which may include the following treatment modalities, organic Ayurvedic spa treatments, Pancha Karma detoxification, Clinical Ayurvedic services, five-sense therapies, and custom-designed herbal formulas. Our yoga classes are small and intimate, and are designed to address the specific imbalances in the body, with a focus on seasonal Yoga to balance the body, mind and spirit.
What do you feel sets you apart from your competition?
Ayurveda maintains that the origin of all disease is a result of living disharmoniously with nature. What we put on our bodies and into our bodies should be edible and nourishing not only for our body, but for our senses and our mind. At AKASHA, we anoint the body with organic herbal infused oils specifically chosen to either provide nourishment or detoxification of the body and the mind. We offer to share the knowledge of the timeless wisdom of Ayurveda with each client who walks through our doors. Ayurveda emphasizes prevention through a lifestyle approach of proper diet, exercise, daily and seasonal routines and the proper uses of the senses. Through a harmonious lifestyle one lives vibrantly and fulfills one’s potential.
What can a new client expect on their first visit at AKASHA?
In order to determine the client’s constitution or unique combination of the five great elements or building blocks inherent in nature: earth, water, fire, air and ether, the client fills out an intake form followed by an Initial Consultation with a Clinical Ayurvedic Specialist. Ten days later they return for their Report of Findings to discover their constitution, and how their lifestyle patterns may have contributed to their imbalances. During this time one may be recommended a minimum of 6 week follow-up visits to stabilize new lifestyle patterns which may include dietary changes, implementation of the five sense therapies and recommended body work treatments through the Spa Services, or detoxification through the Pancha Karma Services. Every aspect of the client is taken into consideration through an individualized treatment plan.
