Company/Service Overview:

Batteries Plus is on the cutting-edge of the portable power industry. With over 30,000 products and exceptional customer service, we have the expertise and know-how to make sure you have the right solution for your power or lighting needs, whether it is for your car, truck, phone, laptop, alarm or any other use. We even build custom batteries right in the store.

What was the motivating factor to open Batteries Plus?

The battery market is constantly growing; new technologies are being introduced every day. People live in a mobile world that is powered by batteries. You probably have 22 batteries in your home, two in your pocket right now and spend over $100 a year buying them. There is a need for quality battery and bulb products and personal service and support from a local company. Many Internet sites sell inferior products with shocking shipping fees and no warranty. Our commercial customers, including schools, companies, fire departments, and municipalities, have told us we have cut their costs while delivering superior products.

What do you feel sets you apart from your competition?

Our associates are dedicated to solving the customer’s problem, not pushing products. Each associate completes over 100 hours of training and many have done over 300 hours! We know batteries and bulbs. We clarify the misinformation and myths about bulb technologies and regulations. With over 470 stores across the United States, we have the buying power and vendor relationships necessary to ensure high quality at great prices. The engineering department has inspectors in factories all over the world, continually testing the products we offer. We have an amazing range of products, from watch batteries you can hardly see to floor scrubber and industrial batteries over three feet tall. And, because we offer testing and recycling service as well as installation, we are a one-stop shop.

What kind of customer service philosophy do you have and would like to share with our readers?

We pride ourselves on great service that is friendly, knowledgeable, warm and welcoming. Solving the customer’s problem is our first priority; we have saved customers countless hours wasted running around. We have an impressive array of battery test equipment. Sometimes after testing a battery in a laptop, child’s toy or perhaps a scooter we find a new battery isn’t needed; it's a fuse, or the charger, or the battery simply needs reconditioning. We are delighted when we can solve the problem and make the customer happy. Our approach might not be the most profitable right away, but we believe great customer relationships are essential to long-term business success.

Are there any specials you post on Facebook, Twitter, or on your website?

We regularly feature discounts on the website (www.batteriesplus.com). Many customers put their address on our private email list for store specials. We have special pricing, delivery options and ordering systems for commercial customers, resellers and high volume purchases. We even build custom ordering and catalog websites for our volume customers.
