What are the hottest new models that our readers should know about?
The VOLT is the new, five-star rated, plug-in hybrid electric car! With an amazing 95 mpg, this one-of-a-kind auto travels the first 35 to 40 miles of a trip without using gas or creating tailpipe emissions by using a full charge of electricity stored in its battery. When the battery runs low, a gasoline-powered engine swings into operation to extend the vehicle's driving range to nearly 380 miles. The gas engine kicks only to charge the battery; it never powers the car. To recharge the battery, you can plug in to a 110-volt outlet, which requires about nine hours (using a 220-volt outlet requires four hours). Chevrolet is constantly challenging itself to improve mileage or reduce overall energy costs for their drivers. Chevrolet also now offers two of our best selling vehicles in a hybrid version, the Tahoe and the Silverado. Both have been created with our environment and our consumer in mind.
