Overview of my professional services:
Oral and maxillofacial surgery is the surgical specialty of dentistry that deals with both the functional and aesthetic aspects of both the hard and soft tissues of the mouth, jaws, face, and neck. Being fellowship trained in facial cosmetic and reconstructive surgery, my practice consists of all aspects of facial rejuvenation, including, but not limited to, non-surgical procedures such as Botox®, lasers, dermal fillers to facelifts, endoscopic forehead lifts, and nasal reshaping. I have also devoted a large part of my practice to oral and facial reconstruction, which is often needed to correct certain congenital and traumatic conditions; in addition, I work on a great deal of patients who require placement of dental implants.
What aspect of your profession most inspired you to take this direction?
There were several aspects of oral and maxillofacial surgery that inspired me to choose this profession. Obviously, the most important underlying component of becoming a doctor, especially a surgeon who deals strictly with the face, is the desire to help others with compassion and empathy. The ability to reconstruct a traumatic injury or to change a person's self image by reshaping their nose or correcting a facial deformity is the most rewarding aspect of my profession.
How do you stay current with new advances in your field?
I read articles in all the medical and dental journals. Also, I make it my business to keep up my training by taking continuing education courses.
What might a patient feel stands out about your practice that would make them recommend you to family and friends?
It is absolutely important that my staff and I make it a priority for the patients to know and feel that they are getting the personalized care, customized treatment, and exceptional results they deserve. This is what drives me and my staff. We want to offer our patients the very best.
Is there anyone whose history or actions have affected your professional life who you would like to meet?
I have already met him – my dad! I would have to say that my dad has been the most influential person in my professional and personal life. He was an amazing role model to have while I was growing up; he seemed to be at all places at all times. As a pharmacist and very successful businessman, he instilled in me a work ethic that has enabled me to get where I am today.
