What are the hot new beauty trends in the realm of cosmetic dermatology for 2012?
Many non-invasive treatments are extremely popular. Exilis, Cool Sculpting®, facial recontouring, painless injection treatments of spider and varicose veins, the use of Perlane® and Restalyne® in different areas of the face, and hand rejuvenation.
• Exilis offers a revolutionary non-invasive form of treatment for the reduction of wrinkles and for the reshaping of targeted fat deposits. It also provides fast and effective skin tightening, as well as treatment of wrinkles and rhytids, with visible results often after the first session.
• Cool Sculpting® is a clinically proven non-invasive procedure that involves freezing fat cells without damage to your skin. Typically, a noticeable reduction of fat is seen in the treated area after one visit. You can lose even more with additional appointments, after discussing this with your doctor.
• Facial recontouring is the replacement of volume to reduce skin laxity arisen from weakened support. By using dermal fillers in specific areas, a more balanced look is achieved.
• Sclerotherapy is painless and can be used to treat both varicose and spider veins. A tiny needle is used to inject the veins with a medication that irritates the lining of the vein. In response, the veins collapse and are reabsorbed. The surface veins are no longer visible.
• Restylane® is injected into the skin in order to add volume to lips and lift up wrinkles and folds. Restylane® consists of hyaluronic acid, which is a natural substance already present in your body. Once in the skin, Restylane® works by creating volume.
• Hand rejuvenation is achieved by injecting Radiesse® to the hands. It immediately replenishes volume to the back of the hands to provide a supple and youthful appearance instantly. Placed beneath the skin, Radiesse® raises the skin level so that tendons, joints and veins lose their prominence. Radiesse® provides instant and durable long lasting results.
What does your office offer to patients?
Our cosmetic surgical and dermatological medical staff includes a board certified pathologist, physicians, physician assistants and nurse practitioners that are certified by the American Board of Dermatology and American College for Mohs Surgery. Each patient is carefully evaluated to determine the best treatment options, and followed through the selected cosmetic surgery or dermatology procedures to ensure complete safety and comfort. We also offer complete cosmetic and medical dermatology with pathologists and a cancer surgeon on staff. We have five offices located in Northern and Central NJ.
What are patients looking for these days?
Patients often tell us that they want to “look better” but don’t want their results to look “too obvious.” They really want very little downtime. Good results by using non-invasive procedures with minimal risk are extremely important to patients.
What would a referral say about your practice?
That we spend a lot of time listening to our patients who tell us what they want and what they need. We explain extensively what to expect from each procedure. We stand behind our treatments and look forward to addressing our patients’ concerns.
