Frankie Brusco invites you to dine and relax inside his casual but elegant eatery: Patricia’s of Holmdel.
The 5,000-square-foot restaurant, complete with a brand-new wood-fired brick oven, overhead chandeliers, and spacious outdoor seating area with running fountains, became an instant hit with the community when it opened about nine months ago.
Frankie, a Brooklyn and Staten Island native who lives in Holmdel, wanted to open an Italian restaurant that could accommodate business professionals for lunch and dinner and also allow families to share a family-style meal in an unintimidating atmosphere. Given the community’s response, he’s been able to do just that, as dinner reservations are highly recommended, especially on the weekends.
“We have the dishes that everyone grew up eating from their parents. Pastas mixed with vegetables, seafood, chicken and steak – meals that are simple, but good,” Frankie says. “And our pizzas are cooked in our wood-fired oven that can get up to 1,450 degrees to quickly cook them and give them a great crunch.”
But that doesn’t mean his kitchen staff doesn’t get creative beyond classic Italian staples like calamari, orrechiette, and branzino. Patricia’s now serves a specialty pasta dish cooked and served inside a wheel of parmesan cheese, and some of their 15 varieties of pizzas are sprinkled with ingredients you might not expect—like the Patricia’s Pizza, topped with figs, fig paste and truffle oil. And because all of their dishes are made in-house from fresh ingredients, gluten-free and vegetarian options, including pizza and pasta are available.
“We can accommodate everyone and any special requests,” Frankie says.
For large groups or families who want to share dishes just as they would for a large dinner at home, Patricia’s family style menu lets everyone sample from an assortment of traditional, portion-heavy dishes like eggplant napoleon, baked clams and chicken scarpariello.
When Frankie renovated the building that houses the restaurant, he installed moveable barriers throughout the dining space to allow Patricia’s to seat and reserve areas for private parties of various sizes. Additionally, their soundproof ceiling helps to minimize crossover noise from regular patrons to the private party. So whether you’d like to reserve space for an intimate family celebration or have them host a larger party for a special occasion, they have the capacity to accommodate it. Catering is also available.
“I pride myself on perfection,” Frankie says. “We created a space and ambiance where everyone can be comfortable and have an enjoyable dining experience.”
Outdoor music events, such as Doo-wop concerts, are planned throughout the summer. And because Patricia’s is located in a plaza just off of Highway 35, ample parking is always provided.
“We really do treat our customers like family,” Frankie says. “I look forward to meeting more regulars from the community this summer.”
