Atlantic Medical Imaging (AMI) is a full service, freestanding imaging practice with a goal: to serve the community by combining sensitive patient care with delivery of the most rapid, accurate diagnostic imaging services possible. The board certified radiologists and staff work hard to make AMI the provider of choice for patients and referring physicians.
When the facility opened in October 2005, AMI made a commitment to practice radiology on the cutting edge of technology. The equipment is state of the art and updated frequently. AMI’s 3T MRI features the highest strength magnet available, and the office also has a low dose CT scanner that reduces patient radiation dosage by up to 50%. AMI is the only practice in the area with this scanner.
The radiologists at AMI also use the latest ancillary technology, such as voice recognition software and autofax, which allows the fastest possible delivery of a report to your doctor. Most AMI reports are turned over the same day and over 90 percent within 24 hours.
AMI’s radiologists are sub-specialty trained and segregate cases by expertise. Some have advanced training in MRI and read everything from week end warrior fractures to sports related injuries. Dr. Hiren Patel, the office’s medical director, along with a team of other radiologists, specialize in musculoskeletal (MSK) imaging. AMI’s other radiologists have advanced training in neuroradiology, cross-sectional body imaging, women’s imaging, vascular imaging, nuclear medicine and interventional radiology. “We have to deliver the whole package: cutting edge technology, a team of highly-trained specialists, and a comfortable and inviting setting,” says Dr. Patel. “That’s the way we like to practice. That’s the way we would like ourselves and our families to be treated.”
AMI began with this concept – to offer the patient a large, modern, full service radiology facility. AMI wanted patients to be able to visit the best place for all their needs and make it convenient to do so.
