Community is at the center of everything that Jamie Segal-Hanley and her staff of instructors do at Elevate Yoga. Their goals center around serving their clients and receiving feedback so they can be sure that what they offer meets their clients’ needs. This has helped them create a strong,  supportive yoga community.

Elevate Yoga is a Vinyasa Flow-based studio. Vinyasa speaks to the connection between breath and movement, focusing on going with the flow, awareness of breath, and honoring one’s body and needs in the moment. Workshops and programs are available for students who want to deepen their  practice; there is also “In Balance Teacher Training” for anyone wanting to continue their studies or aspiring to be a yoga teacher. The staff is made up of some of the most knowledgeable yoga instructors in Monmouth County; two of them, Barbara Paulsen and Jennifer Johnson, each have more  than 10 years of teaching experience. Jamie also teaches a class – her favorite is “Flow Into Bliss” – that combines Vinyasa Flow with restorative yoga, leaving students feeling relaxed and balanced.

Jamie opened Elevate Yoga on May 17, 2009, after completing 200 hours of teacher training last fall. “Yoga in a studio is really different,” says Jamie, who grew up in Holmdel and has a background in the cosmetics industry. “I know I will do yoga for the rest of my life. It leaves me feeling strong  and grounded, peaceful, joyful, and grateful for what my body can do.”

The studio is a bright, clean, clear space, with a well-trained staff and professional customer service. They work every day to create a safe and welcoming environment for their guests, and their schedule features a variety of classes for different levels, several times a day. At Elevate Yoga, affecting  the greater good is a goal. To that end, the studio works with different charities in the area. It is amazing to watch how a yoga studio can create a community where people build beautiful friendships and often rally together to help others.

“Our ultimate goal here at Elevate Yoga is to take the yoga community to a new level, affecting the greater good for all those around us…like a ripple of good karma!,” says Jamie. Join today and you too can experience that every day of the week.
