If you’re thinking about learning to dance, preparing for a wedding or special event, or simply brushing up on your technique, steppin’ out to Fred Astaire Dance Studio is a move you want to make. The studio offers great dance instruction, exciting parties, and the opportunity to meet new people in a fun-filled setting. The staff of trained instructors and nationally-recognized coaches makes the learning experience fun, friendly, and easy. They can help you become a social, hobbyist, or competitive dancer! The teachers are actively competing, award-winning professionals and gifted educators. Many have degrees in the fine arts and all have passed rigorous exams given by the Imperial Society of the Teachers of Dance and the Fred Astaire Curriculum Certification. The studio director is André Gosselin, a former Canadian Latin Champion and Eastern American Smooth Champion.

The Fred Astaire Dance Studio tradition began in 1947 when Fred Astaire, considered to be the greatest multi-talented dancer of all time, personally developed a practical, interrelated dance curriculum for his first eponymous studio on New York City’s Park Avenue. Through the decades that followed, the company expanded internationally, respectfully adhering to the basic principles of dance instruction established by Astaire. Since 1990, the Red Bank location has carried on that fine tradition and is presently one of the premier ballroom dance studios in the area.

Students will find a curriculum spanning the full range of American, Latin-American, international style, and exhibition/theater arts dances. World famous dance champions and registered judges on the Fred Astaire  National Dance Board constantly study and review the curriculum to make sure that only the finest, up-to-date programs are being offered to students.

It is easy for students to track their progress while enjoying dancing via the the Fred Astaire Trophy System.  The studios social and advanced foundation programs teach beginner students the step patterns and techniques to move comfortably on the dance floor with any partner. From there, a student can progress through bronze and silver levels, even all the way to gold, where you will be dancing like a star.
