At Gramercy Pain Center in Holmdel, Dr. Ajay Varma strives to help you manage your pain and achieve a meaningful improvement in your quality of life. Varma, board certified in anesthesiology and interventional pain medicine, opened Gramercy Pain Center last July. It is dedicated to alleviating a patient’s pain with as many minimally invasive techniques as possible. “Most of our pain relief is done through injections, which increase the patient’s comfort level during treatments,” Varma says. “As a certified anesthesiologist, I’m extremely familiar with the proper techniques required to conduct the treatments effectively.”
When you’re treated at Gramercy Pain Center, you’re given comprehensive care that goes well beyond the basics. Dr. Varma personally treats each patient, developing a rapport with them. He also incorporates advice from other doctors or psychiatrists in his sessions. “I like to see the personal progress that my patients make. Whether they have temporary discomfort or chronic pain from a serious medical issue, I enjoy witnessing the results from my procedures. Whether the pain is neurological, psychological, or otherwise, we still consult with other medical professionals to offer comprehensive care,” he says. “Pain is one of the cardinal symptoms we all experience, and I want to personally see the reduction of it in each patient as I offer them a better quality of life.”
Gramercy Pain Center employs a variety of pain relief techniques, from standard procedures such as epidural steroid injections, facet joint injections and disc decompression, to modern treatments like spinal cord stimulation. Throughout the treatments, Dr. Varma keeps his honest and personal approach a constant. “I offer realistic expectations. I only guarantee 100% alleviation of pain if it’s feasible, and I would never treat too much if it’s going to compromise your level of functionality.” All major insurances, including Medicare but not Medicaid, are accepted. For the most personal, comprehensive and effective procedures to help you reduce and manage your pain and increase your quality of life, turn to Dr. Varma at Gramercy Pain Center.
