Jaeger Lumber has been serving its local communities since 1937. It is a family owned and operated business consisting of seven full-service yards and one design showroom.
Over the years Jaeger has evolved from a home center to a builder-oriented lumberyard in order to better serve its client base. The company prides itself on providing the high level of service and expertise that the custom home builder, remodeler, or “Do-It-Yourself” craftsman needs. The team at Jaeger excels at providing superior quality materials, professional grade tools and hardware, and the top millwork solutions to all its customers, large or small.
In 1996, Jaeger Lumber purchased Vannote Lumber in Pt. Pleasant Beach, which became its first shore location. Its presence in the area grew in 1999 with the purchase of Sterner Lumber in Belmar and with the opening of a brand new facility in Lakewood in 2007. Between the acquisitions of Vannote and Sterner, Jaeger inherited over 200 years of history serving Monmouth and Ocean Counties. These relatively small lumberyards still are a major part of many remodeling projects in their towns and beyond.
With its growth, Jaeger Lumber has been able to expand its range of services. The Jaeger Kitchens division employs experienced designers and an installation team of master craftsmen that can help make your dream kitchen a reality from concept to the final nail. Meanwhile, the Jaeger Overhead Door division offers professional service and installation of garage doors for residential and commercial buildings. The buyers at Jaeger Lumber are able to use their market knowledge to keep each location stocked with a robust inventory of the best and most in-demand products available in every category, but if something is unavailable locally, it can be shipped from an alternate location at no additional charge.
While Jaeger Lumber has grown, it still considers itself your neighborhood lumberyard. Even with the wide range of products and services Jaeger Lumber offers, the business's greatest strength lies with its employees. By avoiding the employee turnover rate of the big chain stores, Jaeger Lumber is able to boast the most experienced and knowledgeable staff in the area. The employees work for the customers as much as they work for Jaeger Lumber, and they believe this is why first-time Jaeger Lumber customers become repeat customers over and over again.
