It’s never too early to think about getting the kids the right new shoes and sneakers for school. But in the summer, it seems like such a hassle to drag them to the mall or an outlet store to get properly fit. That’s why you may want to take a trip to Jay’s Shoe Box.

The store is just one mile from the intersection of Route 520 and Route 18. They returned to Marlboro in August 2009 after a 20-year absence from the area. The news could not be better for parents, especially since owners Harold and Marsha Goldstein, who have four children and five grandchildren of their own, provide the ultimate in kid-friendly atmosphere.

“My wife and I are kid-friendly people,” says Harold, who worked at the store’s sister location in Livingston for a couple of years. “The reason we opened the store is to be around kids all day long. We have games and toys (and) we help take care of other kids while each child gets individual attention. Parents can feel comfortable bringing kids into our store knowing they cannot roam around and get lost like they could at a major department store.”

The Goldsteins are assisted by a crew of six very experienced sales associates, including one who owned a shoe store and several others who spent significant time with major shoe retailers. The upscale children’s shoe store features over 35 different brands, including the latest styles for Uggs, Geox, Primigi, Kors, Lelli Kelly, Kenneth Cole, and Naturino. Jay’s Shoe Box offers price competitive footwear from size 0 up to a child’s size 6.

Harold is very pleased with how business has gone during his first year and knows that one visit to Jay’s Shoe Box will make you a repeat customer. “If you come into our store, with our service, kid friendliness, and calm atmosphere, we will win you over and you will want to come back in.”
