From coffee shops to firehouses to medical offices, Parallel Architectural Group and Parallel Construction Group have been able to leave their mark all over the Jersey Shore. Since founding the company 4 years ago, partners Peter A. Kozielski, AIA, Rafael R. DaSilva, AIA, and Antonio Scalise, AIA, have been able to use their talents to create projects both large and small.
This young, energetic firm views each new project as an opportunity to create new long-term relationships. Foremost in the firm’s philosophy is a commitment to providing its clients with the best quality and service to fulfill their needs. The team provides a full-range of services, including design, construction documentation, and construction administration, and more.
Based on the streamlined union of architecture and construction, Parallel joins both services under one roof, feeling that clients, communities, and society are better served. The team approach is to develop relationships with key players, including clients, subcontractors, and government officials, to improve the complex construction process; this strategy is applied to both traditional design/bid/build and architect-led design/build delivery systems.
All of the partners have Bachelor of Architecture degrees from the New Jersey Institute of Technology, with more than 25 years of combined experience. Peter’s background is in public and commercial projects, specifically construction administration, and has worked with housing authorities, municipal governing bodies, fire commissions, and various commercial projects. Rafael’s experience includes municipal and county projects, commercial projects, and single- and multifamily residential projects. Antonio has been involved with high-end custom residential projects, commercial tenant fit-outs, and speculative office building projects. He also comes from a family of masons, and has worked in the field since childhood. This valuable construction experience gives him insight into real field conditions and how to streamline the process.
Each partner brings a unique perspective to every project. As a result of their commitment to quality design, service, and community, the firm was named the 2007 AIA Jersey Shore Firm of the Year.
