Led by Dr. Raja Barakat, Samra Group Pediatrics & Adolescent Medicine is able to provide the finest pediatric services to children. The goal of the practice is to educate the public about issues affecting children’s health and well being. “We provide personalized care at convenient hours, and we focus on preventive medicine,” says Dr. Barakat, who has been operating the Samra Group for 27 years.
Samra Pediatrics offers comprehensive care from infancy to young adulthood; their services are designed to ensure the healthy development of each child by screening for: health conditions; counseling parents on nutrition, safety, and other important topics; administering immunizations against common illnesses; and diagnosing and managing acute and chronic illnesses.
The practice also includes Dr. Ronald Quiba and Dr. Mofida Elasfty. Together, the three physicians provide the most up-to-date medical treatment, with personalized attention. They value integrity, teamwork, innovation, commitment to personal development, and, most of all, commitment to children.
Dr. Barakat has a medical degree (1973) from Damascus University Medical School, having completed her internship at University Hospital in Damascus. She did her residency in general pediatrics at UMDNJ-New Jersey Medical School, and continued her education, completing a Pediatric Ambulatory Care Fellowship at UMDNJ.
“I believe I am an approachable physician with whom patients and parents feel free to initiate a dialogue about their care and concerns,” says Dr. Barakat, who is board certified by the American Board of Pediatrics and a member of the American Academy of Pediatrics.
The Samra Group is affiliated with four area hospitals: Bayshore Community Hospital (Holmdel), Riverview Hospital (Red Bank), Raritan Bay Medical Center (Perth Amboy), and Raritan Bay Medical Center (Old Bridge).
