Joe Adelfio has been in the cabinet industry since 1981. He went from cabinet maker apprentice and mechanic to an operations manager for a large kitchen cabinet company in Lakewood, overseeing 110 employees and a 100,000-square-foot factory. During the late 1980s he noticed that the closet  industry was rapidly expanding. He took a leap and started Closettec, for which his clients are ever so thankful.

Closettec is a family-owned-and-operated business, withmore than 55 years of experience. Joe has a fully staffed showroom that is open 5 days a week (and Saturday by appointment). All the products are sold, manufactured, and installed “in house.” The closet systems are floor systems, meaning that they sit on the floor and are attached to the wall. This provides 100% adjustability, changeability, furniture appearance, and structural integrity.

The sales team wants, first and foremost, to give customers what they need and, of course, what they want; it is critical that clothing and wardrobe needs and expectations are always met. The next focus is on the customers’ wishes, and from there, everything is constructed to a standard that  rivals some kitchen manufacturers. Finally, the installation crews – Closettec employees – come in and determine exactly how the product needs to be installed. Each customer receives a computer-rendered design, on which every detail is explained.

“Every homeowner has a different need and situation, so we sit down with each customer for aminimum of 1 hour to detail what their need,” says Joe. “We try extremely hard to answer every question that comes into the office right away, whether the sales person is available or not.”

Closettec’s success comes from handling each job as if it is the only job. Every customer is as important as the next; Joe and his staff try to build relationships with their clients. In business for more than 20 years, Closettec wants to know that the customers they have served are happy with their  finished product. At Closettec, you can expect professionalism, sincerity, honesty, and complete satisfaction from the first contact through to the completion of the job.
