Tim Dorland, born in Montana and raised in Oregon, grew up with a reverence for nature which is reflected in his art. Graduating in 1983 from Portland State University with a degree in fine art, he eventually found his way into a large stained glass warehouse and teaching facility. Soon he was working there and began to teach basic glass classes after a one year apprenticeship. Little did he know that there he would find his life’s passion in creating and teaching glass art. Tim has taught hundreds of people various glass techniques, and his glass art is held by many collectors worldwide. In 1999, Tim left his job at the glass warehouse to establish the T. Dorland Glass Studio.
Upon moving to New Jersey to marry and start a new life, he has also expanded his studio. Tim now accepts commissions and teaches classes in all fine art glass techniques, including:
• painting on glass
• glass mosaics
• stained, leaded, and etched glass
• kiln-formed glass
• glass jewelry and bead making
