What sets Velocity Chiropractic and Sports Rehabilitation apart in this specialty?
Velocity Chiropractic and Sports Rehabilitation has been keeping spines healthy since 2001. We offer our patients a wide range of treatment options, in order to meet the specific needs of their injuries. Our newly renovated, 3000 square foot, state of the art facility is located in the heart of Red Bank. We offer all of the latest technology with regard to diagnosis and treatment, such as digital X-ray, and AlterG® Anti-Gravity Treadmills®, Game Ready® machines, and Shock Wave therapy. Our experienced staff of Chiropractors, Physical and Occupational therapists have a combined 60 years of practice. We pride ourselves on working interactively with our patients and referring health care providers. We keep the communication open with Primary Care, Pain Management as well as Orthopedic Surgeons so that our patients get the most out of their rehabilitation. Our purpose is to provide quality Chiropractic, Sports and Physical Therapy in a healing atmosphere, where our goal is for patients to be back on the track or court in the shortest possible time.

When should an athlete be evaluated for an injury?
Injuries can be classified as either Acute or Chronic. If an injury is Acute and noticed immediately, medical attention should be pursued to ensure proper healing of the affected joint, and its muscles, tendons and ligaments. Pain is usually chronic when the athlete notices a recurrent pattern of decreased performance and pain with repetitive motion. Recurrent patterns of low back, hip, knee or foot pain should be evaluated. At Velocity, our expertise lies in understanding the athlete’s mindset and their need to resume their physicality. We develop a plan to incorporate Chiropractic, Occupational and Physical Therapy. We address the symptoms as well as the cause of the injury while decreasing inflammation, spasm, and pain. Early intervention allows the area to properly heal at a much faster rate.

What advances in technology have improved your practice?
Quickly getting an athlete back to their sport is our ultimate goal. This requires the most advanced equipment for diagnosis and treatment. We are one of the few area practices that utilize AlterG® Anti-Gravity Treadmills®, which allows the patient to run while lighter than their own body weight, ultimately decreasing their “down time”. We also have multiple Game Ready® machines which administer ice and compression at the same time, reducing inflammation to joints and surrounding tissues.

Are there other ways in which your practice makes Chiropractic and Physical Therapy easier for patients?
Because our practice is comprehensive, we can correct the patient’s biomechanics and strengthen their joints in the same office visit. Our patients can have their chiropractic adjustment minutes after their rehabilitation. We know our patients live busy lives and are often pressed for time and we respect that. Co-treating helps to rapidly get our athletes back in the game.
