Weigh In - Castaway

Have you ever wondered what you would do if you were stranded on a deserted island?

Have you ever wondered what you would do if you were stranded on a deserted island? Or, for that matter, what one thing you couldn’t possibly live without? We often have the pleasure of being in the company of loved ones – whether it is a friend, a partner, or a pet – who keeps us from growing lonely and  surrounds us with thoughtful support and affection. We have also become accustomed to indulging ourselves in the luxury of such things as technology,  shopping malls, automobiles, boats, a variety of food and drink, electricity, and shelter.

But what if all of those things were to be withdrawn from our lives and  only one of the many items or people we have familiarized ourselves with, become fond of, and adapted into our lives was permitted to join you on a deserted  island? Would you choose love over survival? Would you be able to live without the technology of the civilized world?

We have all seen the television shows and movies “Lost,” “Gilligan’s Island,” and “Cast Away,” just to name a few, that exhibit this type of situation. So ask yourself: what would you do if you were stranded on a deserted island? What would be the one thing that you could not possibly live without? Living in Colts Neck took to the streets to see what your choice would be if you were far from civilization.
